Hi! My name is Sumaila (Su-may-la) and I am the founder of rōz. rōz started with a deep desire to express my creativity and individuality. As an American Muslim and Pakistani, constantly moving between cultures and cities, I noticed that my style is inspired from all parts of the world. rōz, meaning everyday in Urdu has been a way to express myself through small and meaningful details. The details that easily express yourself at work and then help you seamlessly transition into dinner with friends. They can be subtle or bold, layered or minimal, and work with your western aesthetic and easily mold into your eastern wear.
By background, I am a designer, architect, and urban planner and I love community, coffee shops, and the excitement that comes with being an entrepreneur. I started this business at 38, am inspired by my father who is also a small business owner, and am taking all the challenges and learnings one day at a time.
